As I have been passing through Lego stores (which are magical, by the way) in the recent months, I’ve noticed a disturbing trend – Lego “Friends”. Basically, Lego Barbies. Salons, baking, pink, purple, going to parties. Five ZOMGBFFs living in “Heartland.”

There is a lot more I could say about this, but I could NOT say this any better than Anita Sarkeesian of Feminist Frequency has. Below are two videos she has masterfully put together detailing the gender roles that have been aggravatingly reinforced by Lego, particularly with their latest introduction of what they think little girls are/should be interested in.
